Servant Leadership |
Devil's Lake PresentationThis winter, through the Emerging Leaders Academy, I had the privilege of giving a presentation with one of my fellow classmates. We gave four forty minute long presentations to ninth graders on the importance of grit. In the presentation we talked about achieving goals by focusing on developing a fascination, daily improvement, greater purpose, and growth mindset.

Day of Service 2020Thanks to the Annual Day of Service held by the University of Mary, I was given the unique opportunity to help serve religious sisters in Italy. The religious community we helped is called the Servidoras. I was given the task of helping stock up on wood to heat up their facilities in the winter, all while experiencing a new culture, language, and way of life in Italy.

Global Studies Office Assistant
During the Fall of 2019, I was privileged enough to be selected for the study abroad program in Rome. During my time in Rome, I was given so many great opportunities such as spending time with President's Club and being chosen to give them a tour of our Rome Campus. I was also chosen to serve as the Global Studies Office Assistant. In the position, I am in charge of the program's social media presence and advertising for future programs. I have loved encouraging others to take the leap of studying abroad and being that person who encourages them to try something adventurous that will change their life forever!

Volunteer at Bismarck Youth Correctional Center |
For the past two years at the University of Mary, I have been volunteering at the Bismarck YCC through Campus Ministry. As a volunteer, we hold mini retreats for the inmates. During these retreats, we serve as someone they can vent to and share stories with. Our goal is to bring the light of Christ to them and show them Christ's abundant love for them. This volunteer opportunity has brought me so much more than I could have ever imagined and has broadened my world-view immensely.
